"I'm Love's MVP and I ain't goin nowhere so you can get to know me"

Love can do funny things to you.

Take 'The Game' for example.

  1. Is this really that surprising? The record industry in America is like the wrestling industry it's all about spectacle and showmanship. There is obviously talent but at the same time the marketing of 'truths' and 'characters' is what sells.

Think about the all the feuding, its just a way of generating the same hype that made rap HUUUUGE in the 1990s. Except in the 90s people were dying over that shit and moving tonnes of cocaine around in def jam freight.

The media players have just sanitized it a bit to make it more palatable for the MTV audience. They create a colourful back story for some poor guy like JT aka 'The Game' and they have a whole industry at their feet; films, TV, documentaries, interviews, clothing lines, fragrance, advertising, sponsorship, appearances... oh and record sales, don't forget the record sales!

It's either that or American chat shows take liberties with the truth. But TV doesn't lie right?

  2. Perhaps I should have written "MTV can do funny things to you".

It's like the greatest episode of MADE...evaaaar. That transformation from cliched rom-com schmo to legit wess-coast gangstarr is remarkable.

Who the fuck needs Avatar when there is shit like this Marcus?
This is a victory against CGI.
